Vivect

Terms of use

This page is an interim version. Vivect is finalising its legal documents with our solicitor. The version below is effective until replaced. Version marker and effective date appear at the foot of the page.

1. What Vivect is.

Vivect is a predictive simulation tool for Australian dogs and cats. You give us information about your animal, and we give you back a modelled longevity profile: a range of estimates, contributing factors, and plain-language notes. We are not a veterinary service. We do not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. Our output is a statistical model, not a verdict, and not a substitute for your vet.

2. Who we are.

Vivect is operated from Australia. Our contact address for questions, privacy concerns, or data requests is support@vivect.com.au. We respond to privacy and data-access requests within 30 days, as required by the Australian Privacy Principles.

3. Using the service.

You may use Vivect if you are at least 16 years old and the dog or cat you are modelling belongs to you or is in your care. You agree to provide accurate information. You agree not to use Vivect for any purpose that is unlawful, or to attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or abuse our models.

4. What we do with your information.

When you run a simulation, we collect the details you provide (animal information, postcode, any uploaded blood panel, any uploaded photo, your email if given). How we handle each of these is set out in the privacy policy. In short: simulation inputs are retained so you can return to your results. Uploaded photos are analysed in a single pass and purged. Uploaded blood panels are read on-device where possible. Your email is used only for the purposes you consented to at the point of collection.

5. Our outputs are modelled estimates.

Every number Vivect shows you is a modelled estimate. Our method is transparent: you can see how each indicator is built. But a model is a model. Your animal is an individual, not a cohort, and the single most important source of health information is your vet. Vivect is designed to help you have better conversations with them, not to replace them.

6. Liability.

Vivect provides the service as a predictive simulation, not veterinary advice. To the fullest extent permitted by Australian law, Vivect and its operators are not liable for any health outcome, decision, or action you take on the basis of a simulation output. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Automated decisions.

Vivect produces longevity estimates using an automated model. You have the right to know this (this section is that notice), the right to request a plain-language explanation of how a given output was produced, and the right to request that a human at Vivect review the output. Email support@vivect.com.au to exercise any of these rights.

8. Changes to these terms.

We may update these terms as the product develops or as our solicitor reviews and replaces them. When we do, we will post the new version here with an updated version number and effective date, and we will notify users who have given us an email address.

9. Governing law.

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by contacting us is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.

10. Contact.
