I built Vivect because I love animals.
For a few years I have volunteered with a senior dog rescue. Two years ago I took in a blind senior dog who did not get along with the other dogs in care. I fell in love with him. He fell in love with me. He passed away only a few months in and it shattered me.
I went back to the same rescue and brought home another broken soul. An old male dog, scared of the world around him. I named him Doodle, because Doodle Bug was still stuck in my head and I could not shake it.
After that I wanted to do something for pets. I wanted to help owners give their pets the best life possible.
An app cannot directly make an animal live longer. But it can help you understand your pet, and become conscious of the small things in your surroundings that you can change for the better.
Sometimes the answer is obvious. You just need to be reminded that this is the answer.
Three things we believe.
Your best mate deserves Australian data. A Kelpie in Queensland is not a Labrador in Boston. Predictive models built elsewhere do not carry over.
Your vet is the only one who should make a medical call. We are not your vet. We give you better questions to bring to them.
A model should explain itself. If we cannot show you how Vivect reached a conclusion, we have no business reaching it.
